China-Aided Two Urban Roads in Tajikistan Completed and Opened for Traffic

On January 8th, 2018, the Completion and Opening Ceremony of Two Urban Road Rehabilitation Projects in Tajikistan was held in KURGAN-TUBE City, Tajikistan, attended by Vice Prime Minister of Tajikistan Ibrohim, Chinese Ambassador Yue Bin, Economic Counsellor Sun Yan, senior officials of Tajikistan, representatives of construction companies and local residents, over 300 in total.

 Ibrohim noted that Tajikistan values China as its most reliable partner, and will participate in the “Belt and Road” construction for mutual development. 

Ambassador Yue spoke highly of the Project’s significance and noted that China will lend support to Tajikistan in its economic and social development, and expand cooperation in the “Belt and Road” construction. Commenced on December 29th, 2016 and completed on December 15th, 2017, the Project mainly involves rehabilitation of 15 municipal roads and 4 bridges in KURGAN-TUBE and Kulob.
